The FLY Girl Ambassador Fellowship is a twelve month leadership and sisterhood council run by FLY Girl Institute, a Nashville nonprofit that has spent eleven years walking alongside young women across 16 Metro Nashville Public Schools. Fellows are developed, mentored, and connected: they build portfolios, networks, and a leadership identity of their own while helping advance three FGI movements, the Hi Felisha storytelling campaign, Black Girl Equity advocacy, and FGI's core youth programs. Each fellow supports the whole and owns one leadership area, alongside a circle of women who stay in her corner for life.

Who this is for
We are seating ten fellows from Middle Tennessee. We are looking for range, not resumes.
- Black women, allies, and co-conspirators ages 18 to 25
- Living in Middle Tennessee. This is a local fellowship, and in person meetups happen in Nashville.
- College students, recent graduates, and early career professionals
- People curious about running, founding, or leading a nonprofit
- Creators, organizers, and connectors who finish what they start

FAQs
Who can apply?
Young women ages 18 to 25 who live in Middle Tennessee. Black women, allies, and co-conspirators are all welcome. FGI alumnae are strongly encouraged to apply.
Do I have to live in Middle Tennessee?
Yes. This fellowship is strictly for Middle Tennessee residents. Quarterly meetups, events, and activations happen in and around Nashville, so fellows need to be able to show up in person.
Do I need nonprofit experience?
No. You need curiosity, follow through, and a willingness to be coached. We will teach the rest.
How much time does it take?
Monthly cohort gatherings, an in person meetup once a quarter, and ongoing work in your leadership area on your own schedule. Most fellows fit it around school or a job.
Is it in person or online?
Both. Monthly gatherings are mostly virtual. Quarterly meetups and key campaign moments are in person in Nashville.
Does it cost anything?
No. The fellowship is free, and fellows receive a stipend of up to $1,000 at completion, plus first access to paid FGI roles as they open.
How are fellows selected?
Applications close September 30. Selected applicants interview with Kara and Renee in early October, and the cohort of ten begins October 15.

Yes, please. It is recorded, so you can watch it any time before September 30. It walks through the year, the leadership areas, and what we look for, and the apply button sits right under it.
What happens after the twelve months?
You graduate into the FLY Girl Ambassador alumnae network with a reference letter, a LinkedIn recommendation, a portfolio, and first look at future roles and board pathways.
